Job Overview

Position Summary:

We are in search of an Engineering Project Leader who will serve as the technical authority overseeing the design processes for both new and existing products. This role involves guiding diverse engineering teams dedicated to the design and production of advanced avionics solutions. You will be the primary technical liaison, both within the organization and with our esteemed clients, which include some of the most recognized names in the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct a cross-functional engineering team, including experts in electrical, mechanical, software, systems, and certification engineering.
  • Facilitate project-level design evaluations throughout the development phases, covering planning, architecture, implementation, verification, and certification.
  • Identify and manage the design of innovative products, enhancements, and technological advancements to ensure alignment with market demands and product strategies.
  • Lead the technical team in securing new business opportunities.
  • Act as the technical contact for current and prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with program management to effectively plan and implement schedules and budgets.
  • Track and communicate project progress to both management and clients.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering within electronics product development.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an engineering leadership role.
  • Proven experience in planning and executing engineering development projects, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Desirable:

  • 5 years of experience in an engineering leadership capacity.
  • Experience with formal project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Background in the design of avionics or other safety-critical systems.
  • Experience in a safety-critical sector (e.g., Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Device).
  • Familiarity with ARP-4754, DO-160, DO-254, or DO-178 standards.
