Position Overview:

This role involves various responsibilities aimed at ensuring the well-being of animals within our care. Key duties include maintaining cleanliness in animal habitats and overseeing the upkeep of shelter facilities, including grounds and incineration areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, handling, and administering health checks such as vaccinations and blood draws.
  2. Assist in customer interactions, both in-person and through various communication channels, ensuring a high level of service.
  3. Collaborate with animal rescue organizations and facilitate processes related to adoptions, transfers, and registrations.
  4. Guide community service workers and volunteers, ensuring effective support and training.
  5. Maintain accurate records and manage data entry in a specialized database system.
  6. Perform euthanasia when necessary, adhering to all regulations and protocols.

This position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory, along with six months of relevant experience. Candidates must obtain euthanasia certification within six months of hire.

Work Schedule: Typically scheduled for five days a week, eight hours per day, during operational hours.

Compensation: Starting pay is aligned with Pay Grade GG09 Step 3, with a competitive hourly rate.
