Job Summary
This position is responsible for the care and management of animals within the shelter environment. Duties encompass maintaining cleanliness of animal habitats and shelter facilities, as well as the surrounding grounds. Responsibilities include the handling, feeding, and restraining of animals, alongside administering vaccinations, microchips, medications, and conducting health assessments through blood draws.
Additional responsibilities involve providing customer service support via phone and in-person interactions, collaborating with animal rescue organizations, and overseeing the processes of adoptions, transfers, and city registrations. The role also includes guiding community service workers and volunteers, maintaining accurate records, and utilizing a specialized database system for data entry and retrieval.
Exceptional customer service skills are essential, and the role may require lifting weights up to 50 pounds frequently. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory, along with a minimum of six months of relevant experience. Euthanasia certification must be obtained within six months of hire. The work schedule typically consists of five days per week, eight hours per day, within the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are advantageous. A résumé is required for application submission.
Compensation Details
The starting pay for this role is Pay Grade GG09 Step 3, $17.64 per hour. Effective 1/7/24: Pay Grade GG09 / Full Pay Range $23.22 per hour.

Incentives
