Job Overview

The Senior Land Survey Project Manager will be responsible for the administrative and technical coordination of projects and field crews to ensure successful project completion, on time and within allocated budget. This includes leadership and direction, operational and company-level tasks, and day-to-day assistance to survey crews in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution of projects.
  • Assist with the marketing of the firm's capabilities to identify and establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.
  • Consult and coordinate with clients and contractors, as well as other internal departments, to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain close liaison with clients to resolve all project questions, such as technical requirements, completion requirements, and billing inquiries.
  • Oversee all surveying and/or survey mapping activities, including review of all project changes, pending or anticipated alterations to the contract, additional work requests, and all other factors that may significantly affect staffing requirements or budget.
Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or related field preferred.
  • Seven or more years of land surveying experience, including experience at the party chief level, or related land development experience to include construction stakeout.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, roadway software, MicroStation, and Carlson principles.
  • Thorough knowledge of residential and commercial construction stakeout procedures and practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of field procedures for performing boundary and ALTA/ACSM land title surveys.
Work Environment

The ideal candidate will have strong local jurisdictional knowledge for plat preparation and approval and be able to perform all aspects of data collection, run topographic surveys, road frontage cross-section surveys, and as-built surveys. The primary work environment will be an indoor professional office setting, with occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions.
