We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Administrative Assistant to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital. As a key member of our surgical services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Office Management: Coordinate all office responsibilities, including statistical reports, licensure verification, meeting minutes, filing, and office organization.
  • Surgical Scheduling: Schedule surgical procedures, coordinate with departments, and ensure timely dissemination of surgical schedules.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general secretarial duties, including data entry for billing and anesthesia, and notify vendors as needed.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and staff, both verbally and in writing.
  • Reporting: Assist with preparation of assigned reports, record daily surgical procedures, and maintain accurate records.
  • Meeting Coordination: Complete meeting minutes, send memo communications, and disseminate information to relevant departments.
  • Core Measures: Assist with generating a current surgical patient log list and evaluating patient charts.
  • Supply Management: Assist with ordering equipment, special supplies, and implants needed for surgery cases.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare facility.
  • Knowledge: Anatomy and physiology, business and medical communications, office procedures, and organizational skills.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, good computer knowledge, typing speed of 40 wpm, and ability to operate office equipment.
