Position Overview:
The Mail Processing Equipment Specialist is tasked with the setup, operation, and maintenance of mail processing machinery to guarantee the precise and timely handling of mail items. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strict adherence to deadlines, and the capability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate mail processing equipment to handle various mail types, including letters, invoices, and promotional materials.
- Ensure machines are supplied with the correct materials and programmed according to job specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to uphold efficiency and quality standards.

2. Quality Assurance:
- Inspect completed mail items to ensure compliance with company and client standards.
- Identify and rectify misaligned inserts, incorrect postage, or damaged materials.

3. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Conduct routine maintenance on mail processing equipment to minimize downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly, collaborating with maintenance personnel as required.

4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of machine output, maintenance activities, and any operational issues encountered.
- Regularly report production data and machine performance to supervisors.

5. Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Comply with company policies and industry standards regarding mail handling and processing.

6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure seamless production flow.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintenance staff regarding machine status and production progress.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience operating mail processing equipment or similar machinery preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands outlined here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this position successfully. Work is conducted in a warehouse or production facility environment, with potential exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust. Employees must be able to lift 50 pounds, push 800 pounds on a load-bearing cart, carry 25 pounds, and pull 200 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, crouching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and repetitive hand or wrist motions are required.
