Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care aimed at ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. This role involves preparing medical equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain detailed records on patient care, conditions, reactions, and progress.
  • Act as the primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in the planning and execution of patient care.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to all support staff within the department.
About the Facility

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South is strategically located to serve the growing needs of the community. The facility is licensed for 158 beds and offers a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing, emergency care, and intensive care.

The hospital features a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, allowing mothers to stay close to their premature or special needs infants.

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Preferred: One year of nursing experience.
  • New graduate nurses must obtain ACLS certification by the end of the clinical orientation period.
  • De-escalation training is required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
  • New graduate nurses must achieve TNCC certification within 18 months of hire or transfer.
  • New graduate nurses must obtain PALS certification by the end of the clinical orientation period.
