Role and Responsibilities:
The Principal serves as the academic and administrative leader of the institution. Reporting to the school system partner and Bard College, the Principal collaborates with other leadership teams. Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring the institution meets Bard's rigorous academic standards and promotes student success.
  • Facilitating effective collaboration with educational partners regarding all aspects of school governance.
  • Leading faculty in the development and delivery of a high-quality academic program, ensuring adherence to Bard's pedagogical practices.
  • Promoting and enhancing the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school culture.
  • Overseeing the school staff and fostering a culture of intellectual engagement and creativity.
Compensation: Salary is determined based on established salary scales.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of experience in both secondary and postsecondary education, demonstrating a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Required qualifications include:
  • PhD in a relevant liberal arts or sciences discipline.
  • Ongoing engagement in scholarly activities within the field.
  • Experience teaching both high school and college students.
  • Proven leadership experience in educational settings.
  • Strong organizational, management, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with adolescents and a commitment to their development.
  • Administrator certification is required.
