Position Overview:
The Senior Systems Engineer will lead engineering efforts for gas turbine programs, focusing on new product development, cost efficiency, reliability enhancements, engine delivery, testing, and root cause analysis of field issues. You will establish requirements, create engineering plans to validate design modifications, and guide engineering teams through implementation. This role includes engineering integration at the engine level and maintaining customer relations. By understanding customer challenges and leveraging your experience, you will devise innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand the full spectrum of customer product offerings and provide direction to design, manufacturing, instrumentation, testing, and business teams.
  • Implement a comprehensive process for system design, creation, and optimization, including requirement identification, design concept generation, performance evaluations, and design verification.
  • Lead external customer communications effectively.
  • Oversee technical execution throughout development, production, and field support, applying established methodologies while driving design decisions and managing technical risks.
  • Influence and guide teams without direct authority.
  • Impact major product line decisions and long-term strategies while balancing business needs with technical and budgetary constraints.
  • Prioritize technical requirements for specific engine models and coordinate across functions.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of engine model characteristics, design, and history.
  • Manage interfaces between components and execution teams, ensuring overall configuration integrity.
  • Program Management: Monitor, allocate, and manage budgets and deliverable statuses.
  • Utilize sound judgment to address complex operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering challenges.
Required Qualifications:
We are eager to connect with candidates who meet the following criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in an engineering role.
  • 3+ years in Gas Turbine or Gas Turbine Package Design, Testing, and Analysis.
  • Experience in systems/module level design and integration.
  • Development and testing expertise.
  • Cross-functional project leadership and communication skills.
  • Team leadership and program management experience.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and problem-solving.
  • Clear and effective thinker.
  • Lifecycle product management experience.
  • Strategic decision-making capabilities.
  • Mentoring and coaching experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily office-based with occasional shop floor involvement.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Frequent use of telephone, video conferencing, and computer systems.
  • Work in heavily regulated industries requiring strict adherence to procedures.
  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines.
  • Standard 40-hour work weeks with core hours from 9 AM to 4 PM.
  • Must have personal transportation for customer visits.
  • All candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents due to the nature of the work.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $105,000, commensurate with experience.
