Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nutritionist II to join our team at the State of New Mexico. As a key member of our Public Health Division, you will play a critical role in providing nutrition services to eligible participants, including pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct nutrition assessments and screenings to determine eligibility for WIC services
  • Prescribe food packages and provide nutrition education to participants
  • Collaborate with other organizations to provide referrals and follow-up services
  • Document nutrition services provided and maintain accurate records
  • Assist with outreach and community engagement efforts to promote WIC services
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a social, community, health, education, or nutritional field
  • Two years of experience in nutrition or a related field
  • Valid driver's license and Defensive Driving Course Certification
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a clinic setting with a diverse population, frequent travel, and occasional overnight stays. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
