Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Agent I, II, III to join our team at Prism Maritime, LLC. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for executing purchasing activities for various commodities and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate purchasing activities for hardware items, electrical parts, electronic components, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, chemicals, and services.
  • Develop, improve, and execute purchasing management processes for continental US and international requirements.
  • Manage the purchase order process and ensure compliance with public law requirements, corporate policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluate and determine bid awards for procurements within established purchasing authority.
  • Negotiate or supervise the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with logistics department to ensure receipt of proper supplies and investigate delinquent purchase order deliveries.
  • Take corrective action with quality control personnel, customers, and vendors on defective or unacceptable goods or services.
  • Review purchase order file and documentation for completeness and correctness for procurements above established purchasing authority.
  • Execute purchasing activities for various commodities and services, including OEM repairs, parts, and services.
  • Apply understanding of the procurement process, responsibilities, and ethical standards necessary for US Government, commercial, and international material and services procurements.
  • Develop and maintain suppliers that provide best value, high-quality products, and services while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
  • Work with internal customers to ensure specifications and statements of work for materials and services are appropriate for tasks or products required.
  • Prepare negotiation plans and conduct effective negotiations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required for Level I, Associate degree and/or 4-8 years of experience related to Government contracting/purchasing required for Level II, and Associate degree and/or 8-15 years of experience related to Government contracting/purchasing required for Level III.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, well-developed interpersonal skills, and effective negotiation skills.
  • Basic understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations, contract law, price, and cost analysis techniques required.
  • Clearance up to Secret level may be required, and US Citizenship required.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting/moving up to and including 25 pounds.
