Job Description

The Patient Referral Coordinator is responsible for facilitating seamless transitions between primary care physicians and specialist providers. This role ensures accurate and efficient coordination of referrals, leveraging Web IVR systems to obtain authorizations and schedule appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process referrals to completion, adhering to precision, detail, and accuracy guidelines.
  2. Prioritize high-priority patients and expedite orders when necessary to meet clinical needs.
  3. Collaborate with patients, families, insurance representatives, and medical personnel to ensure successful referral outcomes.
  4. Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, appointments, and referral status within HITS tools and other systems.
  5. Participate in daily huddles with physicians and clinicians to address patient needs and outstanding items.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD coding principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
