Position Overview

The Department of Neurosurgery at Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia is in search of a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, specializing as a fellowship-trained skull base neurosurgeon. The ideal candidate will be board eligible or certified and possess a proven track record in establishing a robust academic skull base program. Preference will be given to individuals with diverse skills, particularly in advanced skull base techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching (15%)
Instruct students at the Medical College of Georgia and/or the School of Graduate Studies while mentoring graduate students.

Research (75%)
Develop a vigorous, independent, and externally funded research program that aligns with the research objectives of the Department and the University.

Service (10%)
Engage in various committees and provide professional and public service to the community and the department/college/University.

Qualifications

Required:
- A doctoral degree in Medicine or a PhD in Biological Sciences.
- Assistant Professor: Early career faculty member with relevant postgraduate training.
- Associate Professor: Mid-career faculty member with a minimum of five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent experience.
- Professor: Senior faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable qualifications.

Preferred:
- Evidence of extramural funding and potential for its continuation.

Compensation and Benefits

This position is full-time and year-round. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to funding availability.
