Job Description

Swarm Aero is a leading innovator in the field of UAV swarm technology. We are seeking a highly skilled Field Test Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge C2 and autonomy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the integration and deployment of our C2 and vehicle autonomy systems with third-party platforms.
  • Work closely with product development teams to ensure customer field test objectives are met and product feedback is incorporated back into the core product.
  • Develop CONOPs (concepts of operation) with customers and business stakeholders, then create test plans and execute them.
  • Travel to customer test sites (up to 50% travel) to perform onsite integrations and testing.
  • Test and troubleshoot complex integrated systems involving multiple third parties, ensuring overall mission success.
  • Obtain a Part 107 license and operate drone swarms during test events.
Requirements
  • Experience working with embedded/IoT systems.
  • Generalist embedded systems knowledge (SPI/I2C/serial, basic use of digital logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, basic microcontroller programming).
  • Experience with at least one major programming language (Python, C/C++, Golang, Java, etc).
  • Working knowledge of networking, including NAT, mDNS, network protocols (UDP/TCP), multicast, and firewall configuration.
  • Ability to productively engage in customer discussions, understand customer problems, and drive toward successful customer outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on robotics or aerospace experience.
  • Experience in both Linux and Windows system administration tasks.
  • Electronics prototyping experience (soldering, breadboarding, interpreting schematics and datasheets).
