POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Executive Leader will act as the principal representative, external advocate, and internal administrator for Emgage's Florida Chapter, overseeing its staff and volunteers. This role entails executing Emgage's national strategy while establishing and managing a state-specific agenda. The Executive Leader will be responsible for translating strategic objectives into actionable plans, including the development and implementation of annual operational, financial, and marketing strategies.

The Executive Leader will engage with key stakeholders, such as donors, community organizations, partners, elected officials, and media representatives. The role requires effective program execution while ensuring the chapter's growth and sustainability. The Executive Leader will dedicate approximately 50% of their time to staff management, program oversight, and financial planning, with the remaining time focused on communications and development efforts. Some travel within Florida and occasional national travel will be necessary.

POSITION GOALS

  • Enhance and expand Emgage Florida's operations and budget to establish it as the leading civic and political organization for Muslim Americans.
  • Develop existing staff and recruit new talent to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Boost awareness and participation among Florida's Muslim voters.
  • Lead impactful advocacy campaigns and promote favorable policies and legislation.
  • Oversee a transparent candidate evaluation and public election education process.
  • Foster the next generation of Muslim American civic leaders through our Emerging Leaders program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Leadership: Guide and support the state team in collaboration with the National Office. Provide regular updates on progress and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Program Implementation: Ensure the successful execution of core programs related to voter engagement, civic education, and leadership development.
  • Community Engagement: Develop strategies to involve and recruit diverse community stakeholders for civic and political initiatives.
  • Communications: Collaborate with the National Communications team to create and implement marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Fundraising: Assist in fundraising efforts to meet both annual and long-term financial objectives.
  • Financial Oversight: Maintain sound budgeting practices and manage the chapter's financial resources effectively.
  • Legislative Advocacy: Identify key legislative priorities and develop strategies to influence policy outcomes.
  • Data Management: Collaborate on metrics for organizing efforts and maintain a robust membership database.
  • Election Strategies: Formulate organizing strategies and lead candidate evaluations in conjunction with the National team.
  • Administrative Management: Oversee administrative functions, including financial reporting and contract management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree required; 3-5 years of experience in organizational and project management.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute successful fundraising events.
  • Strong connections within local business and civic networks are preferred.
  • Ability to manage both immediate and long-term objectives effectively.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead and inspire teams and volunteers.
  • Experience in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership capabilities in managing complex organizational structures.
  • Experience in fundraising or sales with a track record of meeting financial goals.
  • Preference for candidates with grassroots organizing or political campaign experience.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders.
