AdventHealth Central Florida is seeking a dynamic and experienced physician leader to join our Cardiovascular ICU team as a Medical Director. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing team and contribute to the growth and development of our program.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the clinical quality and performance of the CVICU, including quality metrics and quality assurance teams
- Collaborate with experienced intensivists, cardiologists, and pulmonologists to grow and establish a high-quality Cardiovascular, Heart & Lung Transplant Critical Care program
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Provide administrative liaison activity with key stakeholders, including physician members of the medical staff, Emergency Department, Department of Surgery, and other critical care units
- Lead the employed ASCU physicians and multidisciplinary team, setting performance criteria and developing subspecialty staffing models
- Board Certification in Critical Care (ABIM) or Surgical Critical Care (ABS) required
- 3-5 years of experience as a CVICU physician leader, including transplant, ECMO, and VAD experience
- Comprehensive clinical experience in a large-volume program with advanced cardiac surgery, heart and lung procurement, acute shock, heart failure, and mechanical circulatory support
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with both private practice and employed models
