Key Responsibilities- Provide complex bedside nursing care to patients in a 75-bed hospital setting
- Assume the role of Patient Care Coordinator (charge nurse) on one to two nursing units as needed
- Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Conduct physical, developmental, and psychosocial assessments of patients and document findings
- Implement and monitor care plans, ensuring safe and therapeutic care for patients
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure accurate and consistent care delivery
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of nursing policies and procedures
- Graduation from a Nursing Program accredited by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
- Three (3) years of work experience as an RN in a recognized health agency, hospital, or healthcare facility
- Eligible driving record required based on HHSC Fleet Management policy
- Ability to provide meaningful participation in Performance Improvement activities
- Ability to develop and maintain competency records for clinical knowledge and skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and positively with patients and staff
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Knowledge of Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and Texas Center for Infectious Disease (TCID) policies and procedures
- Knowledge of principles of adult learning
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and state and federal regulations pertaining to health care and accreditation standards
