Key Responsibilities
  • Kafka Cluster Management: Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable Apache Kafka clusters to ensure seamless data processing and streaming.
  • Data Streaming Architecture: Develop and maintain real-time data streaming solutions using Kafka, Kafka Streams, and related technologies to drive business insights and decision-making.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize Kafka clusters for performance, including tuning brokers, topics, partitions, and configurations to ensure maximum throughput and efficiency.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and manage robust security measures for Kafka, including encryption, authentication, and authorization, to ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Kafka with other systems and services, ensuring seamless data exchange and processing.
  • Monitoring and Alerts: Utilize tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Kafka Manager to set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for Kafka clusters, ensuring prompt issue resolution and minimizing downtime.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Kafka performance, connectivity, and data processing, providing expert-level support to internal stakeholders.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for Kafka configurations, processes, and best practices, ensuring knowledge sharing and consistency across teams.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Kafka and related technologies, proposing innovative solutions and improvements to drive business growth and competitiveness.
  • Proven experience with distributed systems, data streaming, and event-driven architectures is essential for this role.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a significant advantage.
Technical Requirements
  • Strong proficiency in Apache Kafka, including broker setup, topic management, and partitioning strategies is required.
  • Knowledge of data serialization formats such as Avro, Protobuf, and JSON is necessary.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) is essential.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform is highly desirable.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and logging tools (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) is required.
