Position Overview:

We are seeking a systems administrator who will architect and oversee a robust system that empowers Department of Defense entities to leverage Cloud solutions, streamline data center resources, and significantly bolster security measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance tasks, including assessment, integration, deployment, administration, testing, and operation of networks, systems, and subsystems within a virtual and cloud-centric framework.
  • Configure and sustain operational environments for Windows, Red Hat Linux, and AWS cloud servers.
  • Utilize DoD ACAS and HBSS tools to execute system security evaluations and group policy modifications, alongside running maintenance scripts and tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with Information Assurance teams to monitor system performance and adjust configurations in response to security challenges and requirements.
  • Oversee data storage, management, and backup processes, while supporting Microsoft IIS and SQL applications, and managing network traffic, routing, firewalls, and load balancing solutions.
  • Design, develop, and implement system enhancements and modifications, ensuring compliance with necessary cybersecurity workforce certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in deploying and configuring IT infrastructure systems, encompassing operating systems, applications, databases, and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with a diverse range of technologies and products, including VMware ESXi, Windows, network switches and routers, next-gen firewalls, VoIP technologies, security appliances, and load-balancing hardware.
  • Experience in constructing, delivering, and managing Cloud IaaS environments utilizing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, Network, ELB, S3, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficiency in multiple operating systems, particularly Red Hat Linux and Windows Server 2016.
  • Experience in a DevOps setting with CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab, or automation tools like Ansible or Terraform.
  • Knowledge of DoD security protocols, including STIG and security tools such as HBSS, ACAS, SIEM, and best practices for Cloud security.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels and facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Possession of a Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • DoD8140 or Security+ Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with DevOps and automation frameworks, including Chef, Docker, Puppet, or Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in scripting or software development, particularly with PowerShell or Python.
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • AWS or Microsoft Cloud Certified Associate or Professional Certification.

Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Secret clearance is mandatory.
