Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Control Manager to join our team at Sugar Creek Packing Co. This is a key role that will drive and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the E&IC Department, ensuring the smooth functioning of our electrical and instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate the E&IC Department's activities, including scheduling personnel and work orders.
  • Coordinate with Plant Management and Maintenance Department to establish maintenance schedules for electrical components, minimizing downtime on production.
  • Provide feedback to Plant Management on project status, work orders, and manufacturing procedures as needed.
  • Drive improvement projects related to safety, operations, and maintenance.
  • Identify and communicate training opportunities for E&IC Technicians and Maintenance Technicians.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Management on problem equipment and systems.
  • Improve production reliability using data collection from Ignition software and historical data from the work order system.
  • Assist in developing preventative maintenance programs, calibration standards, and analysis programs.
  • Ensure equipment PMs are in place for instrumentation, calibration, and electrical equipment throughout the facility.
  • Facilitate or assist in completing safety work orders.
  • Develop and suggest a personal training agenda for Maintenance and E&IC Technicians.
  • Learn and follow good manufacturing procedures (GMP) for the area of the facility being worked in.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Support safety, food quality, and sanitation initiatives and policies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED); Technical or Vocational training preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a related electrical or maintenance role.
  • ARC Flash Certification.
Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose control circuitry.
  • Read schematics and electrical prints.
  • Use Digital Multi-meters.
  • Follow lockout tag out procedures.
  • Diagnose electric motor failure.
  • Strong proficiency in using devices and procedures for calibration, analysis, and testing of equipment and control devices.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Read critically and write effectively.
  • Multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Work well with others in a team environment.
  • Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.
  • Strong HMI troubleshooting and programming skills.
Work Environment

This role requires some travel to other locations and work in a comfortable, indoor, office-like facility, as well as an indoor, manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, coats, and other necessary equipment.
