Overview


US Oncology, Inc. is seeking an Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to become a vital part of our dedicated team. This role will primarily support our infusion services, providing essential care to patients undergoing treatment.

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule, ensuring a work-life balance without weekend or holiday shifts.

Role of the Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)


Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering professional nursing care to patients, adhering to both national and company standards.

The RN will demonstrate an understanding of the physiological, psychological, and developmental differences among patients, including those in late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly.

Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is essential to assess and manage the needs of patients and their families. The RN will also support compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in line with established standards.
  • Assess patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under physician supervision.
  • Administer medications and blood products accurately, ensuring proper dosage and technique.
  • Ensure pre-authorization and consent forms are obtained as necessary.
  • Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patient conditions and consulting with physicians.
  • Perform venipuncture and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position will possess the following qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • 0-1 year of RN experience; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Current RN state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Working Conditions


The work environment may expose the employee to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions typical of an oncology clinic.


Physical Requirements


The physical demands of this role include a full range of motion, the ability to lift patients, and manual dexterity. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.
