We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Statewide Travel Float Pool team at US Oncology, Inc. As a Travel Float Pool Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in various medical oncology and radiation oncology settings across the state of Texas, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to patients in accordance with national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations.
- Assess health status, plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician, including medications and blood products.
- Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
- Perform venipuncture, accesses implanted ports, and maintains central lines catheter devices.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record information in the patient chart.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 1-5 years of nursing experience.
- Willing to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate.
- Oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
