Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Scrub Technician to join our team in the fascinating world of Plastic Surgery. As a Surgical Scrub Technician, you will play a vital role in preparing and caring for patients both pre- and post-operative, ensuring a smooth and safe surgical experience.

About the Role:

The Surgical Tech will perform a variety of technical duties, including:

  • Assisting in skin closure, subcutaneous closure, and facia closure under the supervision of the operating surgeon.
  • Assembling supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
  • Preparing sterile instrument tables.
  • Preparing patient skin for surgery in accordance with standards.
  • Maintaining aseptic techniques and actively monitoring situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
  • Positioning patients according to the type of surgery.
  • Working in office clinics as needed, including office procedures, Botox, fillers, and laser setup.
  • Coordinating instruments and implants between office and OR according to the schedule.
  • Assisting the surgical team in surgical procedures, including passing instruments, sponges, and suture work.
  • Maintaining work areas and gathering equipment for cleaning and sterilization.
  • Assisting in the monitoring of patients through procedures.
  • Providing age and culturally appropriate care.

Requirements:

  • Required:
    • Education: high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Licensure: valid Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license.
    • 3-5+ years of experience working in an Operating Room.
    • In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination, etc.).
    • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Responsible and compassionate.
    • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills.
    • Patient with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred:
    • Plastic or Cosmetic Surgery experience.
    • Sewing work experience.
