Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic team in a thriving Plastic Surgery practice located in Melbourne, FL. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in the intricate and rewarding environment of surgical procedures without the demands of night shifts, weekends, or on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities:

The Surgical Technologist will undertake a variety of essential tasks to ensure the smooth operation of surgical procedures, including:

  • Assisting the lead surgeon with various surgical techniques, including skin and tissue closure.
  • Preparing and organizing surgical instruments and supplies required for procedures.
  • Maintaining a sterile environment by preparing the instrument table and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed.
  • Preparing patients for surgery by adhering to established protocols.
  • Monitoring the surgical area for compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Positioning patients appropriately based on the type of surgical intervention.
  • Assisting in office-based procedures, including aesthetic treatments and laser setups.
  • Coordinating the transfer of instruments and implants between the office and operating room as per the schedule.
  • Supporting the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and assisting with suturing.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Preparing equipment for cleaning and sterilization post-procedure.
  • Monitoring patient status throughout the surgical process.
  • Delivering care that is respectful of age and cultural diversity.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Valid Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license.
    3. 3-5+ years of experience in an operating room setting.
    4. Comprehensive understanding of health and safety protocols, including sanitation and decontamination.
    5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating teamwork.
    6. Compassionate and responsible demeanor.
    7. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
    8. Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred:
    1. Experience in Plastic or Cosmetic Surgery.
    2. Background in sewing or textile work.
