The Commonwealth of Virginia is looking for an Environmental Health Compliance Specialist to join our dedicated team. As part of our mission, you will work closely with various counties and cities, promoting public health through effective water management practices.

Key Duties Include:

  1. Overseeing non-community groundwater and consecutive system monitoring and operations, including conducting inspections and reviewing reports.
  2. Interpreting and applying federal and state regulations to assist waterworks owners and operators in achieving compliance.
  3. Providing expert guidance to ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
  4. Assisting waterworks in regaining compliance when standards are not met.
  5. Training operators on the effective operation and maintenance of waterworks systems.
  6. Communicating vital information regarding drinking water quality to the public.

This position also plays a crucial role in the overall management and administration of our field office.

  6. Experience with waterworks inspections and report evaluations.

Additional Considerations:

  1. Experience in conducting sanitary surveys or environmental assessments.
  2. Understanding of the Safe Drinking Water Act and Virginia Waterworks Regulations.
  3. Capability to manage regulatory programs effectively.
  4. Knowledge of waterworks operations.
