Penn State York is seeking applications for a Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Information Technology.
Key Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering courses within the Information Technology undergraduate program. The curriculum includes introductory topics in technology, programming, systems analysis and design, and databases, extending to advanced subjects in information technology. Teaching assignments may require flexibility in scheduling, including day and evening classes.
The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty across multiple campuses to provide a cohesive curriculum statewide each semester, utilizing traditional in-person, hybrid, and online teaching methods. Participation in course and curriculum development, student advising, career guidance, and engagement in campus and community service activities is expected. A commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-focused environment is essential. An interest in active learning, the use of technology in instruction, and hybrid and online teaching methodologies is advantageous. A passion for working in a multidisciplinary setting is important.
Qualifications: A minimum of a master's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in areas such as databases, networking, information security, enterprise systems, data analytics, cloud computing, programming (with a preference for Python and Java), data science, gaming, and app development, or other emerging topics in the information technology sector. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
