About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our team at Harbor Care Health and Wellness Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient appointments, schedules, and information with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, customers, and colleagues.
  • Collect and verify patient information, including demographic data and insurance details.
  • Assist with scheduling, canceling, or rescheduling appointments as needed.
  • Communicate with patients via phone, email, patient portal, or web-based chat platforms.
  • Coordinate and verify patient information collection related to Sliding Fee Discount Program.
  • Collect patient payments and consolidate all payments collected at the end of each day.
  • Ensure accurate and timely information exchange with clinical departments.
  • Facilitate patient communication and correspondence.
  • Collect data for routine reporting.
  • Travel as required to attend meetings and seminars.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or global equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft software applications.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish or English/Portuguese desired but not required.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and 42 CFR rules and regulations.
  • Strong oral, written, and reading communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Resourcefulness, flexibility, and integrity.
  • Respectful of people and their cultural, religious, and ethnic differences.
