Certified Pharmacy Technician Job Summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at St. Vincent Medical Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary patient care team, you will be responsible for providing pharmacy services, including preparing pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control, compliance audits, and financial transactions, as well as providing customer service and maintaining pharmacy records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving and verifying the accuracy and authenticity of prescriptions
  • Reviewing and recording patient information with their prescription in compliance with the guidelines of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Providing instructions to educate patients on the correct way to take their medicine
  • Supporting the Pharmacist in the daily operation of the pharmacy
  • Protecting employees and patients by adhering to infection-control protocols and policies
Requirements:
  • High School Degree or GED
  • Valid ExCPT Certification provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)
  • Valid state driver's license (required)
  • Previous experience working in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion Pharmacy (preferred)
