Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Site Civil Cost Analyst to become a vital part of our team at Sandstone Site Services. The Cost Analyst is responsible for strategizing, budgeting, supervising, and documenting all elements of the estimating and bidding process. This role requires close collaboration with senior management to ensure that estimates and bids are in accordance with company policies, procedures, and budgetary constraints. The Cost Analyst will oversee all facets of estimating, including pre-construction assessments, competitive bids, negotiated contracts, budget analysis, general conditions, value engineering, and subcontractor procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the site and civil construction sector, particularly in site operations and underground utilities, along with a strong understanding of heavy machinery.
  • Demonstrate a thorough grasp of construction drawings, specifications, timelines, and methodologies.
  • Exhibit proficiency in computer applications, with a preference for experience in construction management software, particularly SharpeSoft.
  • Show expertise in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or an equivalent combination of technical training and relevant experience, with a preference for candidates with 10 years of experience.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and pass a drug screening.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and confirm the scope of work.
  • Generate a substantial volume of work that aligns with revenue goals, ensuring optimal utilization of the company's resources.
  • Review project documentation to ascertain the scope of work.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs.
  • Identify requirements for labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Determine production rates.
  • Compile project cost estimates using company labor and equipment cost data.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on additional work and change orders.
  • Act as a brand ambassador in all interactions with clients and the public, maintaining professionalism and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Solicit multiple quotes to select the most suitable subcontractors and suppliers for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • For successful proposals, transition project details to the Operations team for effective project execution.

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this role, the Cost Analyst will be required to visit and inspect project sites, which may involve exposure to ongoing construction activities and varying weather conditions. The work environment may include proximity to moving mechanical parts and uneven terrain, with potential exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, airborne particles, dust, and noise.
