Role Summary

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Aircraft Assembler Mechanics (Level B) to support various aspects of our production operations across multiple aircraft programs. This role is based in North Charleston, South Carolina and involves working on a Variable Shift.

As an Aircraft Assembly Mechanic B, you will engage in a manufacturing assembly environment, utilizing knowledge gained from training and certification to fulfill your daily tasks. Your responsibilities will include interpreting technical drawings and work instructions to identify your work location on the aircraft, as well as determining the necessary tools, parts, and equipment for flawless execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications.
  • Utilize a computer effectively in a production setting.
  • Read and comprehend technical work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Install various components and assemblies, including brackets, fittings, and frames.
  • Wear appropriate protective gear as dictated by the task.
  • Operate various tools, including rivet guns, screwdrivers, and pneumatic drills.
  • Manage mechanical lifts of different types.
  • Route wire harnesses and install connectors to electronic components.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality and compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Verify adherence to safety standards and FAA regulations.

Work Environment

This position requires 100% onsite presence. Candidates must meet export control compliance requirements, necessitating a "U.S. Person" status as defined by relevant regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to work on a variable shift schedule.
  • Minimum of 6 months of aviation experience, including education.
  • Experience in following detailed work instructions and interpreting blueprints.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion and maintenance of Confined Space and Fall Protection Certifications.
  • Ability to adhere to high safety and compliance standards.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry weights between 10-35 pounds.
  • Experience working with hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to perform various physical tasks including climbing, kneeling, and reaching.

Education and Experience:

Typically requires a high school diploma or GED, along with one or more years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
