JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structural Technician

LOCATION: North Charleston, SC

COMPENSATION: $38.00 per hour

Role Responsibilities:

  • Execute intricate assembly operations on structural components, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems using both manual and automated tools.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair procedures.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of aircraft structural modifications and repairs, including the ability to assess the functionality of basic electrical systems.
  • Operate specialized aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and sheet metal tools.
  • Utilize professional technical expertise to perform complex structural tasks, including but not limited to drilling, fastener removals, riveting, and installations.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and specifications to carry out structural modifications and repairs.
  • Maintain necessary certifications and licenses as required for the assigned tasks.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education and experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g., High School diploma/GED).
  • Over 10 years of hands-on experience with heavy aircraft structures.
  • More than 10 years of experience in following detailed work instructions and interpreting blueprints in English.
  • At least 5 years in a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in disassembling and reassembling aircraft components.
  • This position is non-managerial and does not involve leadership responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills, work ethic, and a sense of urgency in completing tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing.
  • At least 2 years of experience with composite materials.
  • 2+ years of experience with Velocity and Radars.
