Join Our Team as an Early Childhood Special Needs Educator

Georgetown Hill Early School is seeking dedicated and compassionate educators to support our innovative Preschool+ program. This initiative is tailored for children aged 3-5 years who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), providing essential additional support in a nurturing environment.

Your Role:
As a member of our Preschool+ team, you will:

  • Address the unique educational needs and interests of preschool children through a creative and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all students through effective supervision.
  • Support the physical, socio-emotional, and developmental growth of each child in your care.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the community.
  • Maintain a consistent, safe, and encouraging learning environment through effective classroom management.

Qualifications:
Lead candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a related field. Assistant candidates are required to have a minimum of 90 hours of preschool training, with experience in early childhood settings preferred. A solid understanding of child development principles and instructional strategies is essential, along with proficiency in technological tools, including Microsoft Office.

Compliance:
In accordance with Maryland State Department of Education regulations, all applicants must successfully complete a state and federal background check as a condition of employment. Additionally, candidates for federal center campuses must obtain GSA-security clearance through a government background screening.
