Preschool+ is a pioneering initiative aimed at supporting children aged 3-5 years who possess an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and who would benefit from enhanced assistance while in our nurturing environment.
Georgetown Hill Early School is a non-profit institution dedicated to meeting the preschool, elementary, and childcare needs of families in Maryland. Our mission is to unite educators, children, and their families to create an exceptional early childhood educational experience.
We are looking for Lead & Assistant Teachers to become part of our Preschool+ initiative at our latest location.
Compensation for this role includes:
- $60K annually and above for qualified and experienced Lead Teachers
- $41K annually and above for qualified and experienced Assistant Teachers
Positions are full-time, year-round, with working hours from 8am to 5pm. Your responsibilities will include addressing the individual needs of our students and promoting each child's independence in a supportive and trusting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Address the educational needs and interests of preschool children through a creative and age-appropriate curriculum.
- Oversee preschool children to ensure their health, welfare, and safety.
- Support the physical, socio-emotional, and developmental needs of each child in the classroom.
- Exhibit effective leadership within the classroom team.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and foster positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the community.
- Manage the classroom to create a consistent, safe, and positive learning environment for all students and staff.
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:
- Lead candidates must hold at least a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education (ECE), Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, or Elementary Special Education — a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Assistant Candidates should have 90-hour preschool training and some experience in early childhood settings; special education experience is advantageous.
- A solid understanding of child development principles and instructional strategies.
- Strong knowledge of MSDE regulations.
- A warm, friendly, and composed demeanor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and reading proficiency.
- Consistently reliable in attendance and punctuality.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Team-oriented and willing to collaborate with others.
- Proficient technological skills, including Microsoft Office, are a plus.
In accordance with Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must undergo and successfully pass a state and federal background check as a condition of employment.
