Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

MK2 Engineers is seeking an exceptional Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing electrical department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems for new construction, retrofits, and system upgrades.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for concepts and documentation from schematic through construction administration phases
  • Design of electrical power and lighting systems for new construction, retrofits, and system upgrades
  • Electrical load calculations; voltage drop calculations; short circuit study
  • Prepare and document required code research for projects
  • Prepare specifications, technical reports, and system narratives
  • Site investigations, field visits, and construction support services
  • Oversee QA/QC process of projects, including drafting
  • Interface with team members of other disciplines in our integrated collaborative environment
  • Client and consultant interface - coordinate with consulting architect, civil and structural engineers
  • Ability to provide labor estimates to support proposal writing
Requirements:
  • 10 years of electrical system design experience in US-based A/E firms or design-build contractors
  • 5 years of consulting engineering experience in California
  • California PE license
  • BSEE degree from an accredited university
  • Proficiency in California Electrical Code and CA Title 24 Energy Standards, NEC and NFPA
Desired Qualifications:
  • Expertise in electrical system design and electrical design software
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD design
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with strong organizational and people skills
