Fire Safety Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fire Safety Technician role encompasses the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire safety and security systems, requiring minimal oversight.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Familiarity with various clean agent and high-pressure suppression systems.
- Utilizing appropriate tools and testing equipment to repair or replace system components.
- Comprehension of fire alarm regulations and standards.
- Programming and software proficiency for fire alarm systems.
- Diagnosing issues to identify faults within systems.
- Repairing or substituting damaged components.
- Maintaining professional communication with clients.
- Compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
- Employing Field Service Lightning for managing work orders.
- Documenting work orders thoroughly.
- Engaging in safety training programs and initiatives.
- Mentoring junior service technicians.
- Participating in an on-call rotation for urgent requests.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- NICET Level 1 Fire Alarm Certification.
- Minimum of 2 years in the Fire Life Safety Industry.
- At least 2 years of professional computer experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Proficient communication skills in English.
SYSTEMS AND SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY:
- 2 years of experience with business intelligence systems.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to travel locally approximately 90% of the time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Physical demands include lifting, bending, standing, and working at elevated heights. The work environment may involve exposure to various elements such as temperature fluctuations, dust, and noise.
