Job Title: Heavy Equipment Technician

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at MEI Rigging & Crating. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment, including forklifts, to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including forklifts, to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and fluid level checks, to extend equipment lifespan.
  • Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other parts as needed.
  • Test equipment functionality to ensure it meets safety and performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to ensure efficient and effective equipment maintenance.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with forklift maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to loud noises, dust, and other environmental hazards.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
