SUMMARY:
At Fisher Auto Parts, the Sales Counter Representative plays a crucial role within the store. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of store operations and a strong commitment to collaborating with all team members and supervisors to achieve success while delivering exceptional customer service. The personal motivation to contribute to the business's growth in a profitable manner, coupled with the highest standards of integrity, is essential for success in this role. Achieving success will be realized through the consistent application of all position-related company objectives, policies, and procedures in alignment with Fisher's core values of providing "The best quality at very competitive prices." At Fisher Auto Parts, "Service to our customers is our primary objective."

NOTE:
Due to the sensitive nature of the information associated with this position, the Sales Counter Representative must uphold the highest level of professionalism concerning ethics, confidentiality, and information security. This position reports to the Store Manager for the assigned location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sales Counter Representative is responsible for various aspects of the store's daily operations, including:
  • Effectively managing day-to-day business operations to ensure all job-related objectives are met and aligned with the company's core values;
  • Meeting sales targets to ensure the store achieves and/or exceeds budgeted goals;
  • Maintaining a safe and respectful atmosphere for both associates and customers at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, DUTIES, AND ABILITIES:
  • Maintaining personal safety standards throughout the store;
  • Delivering high standards of customer service, including prompt handling of all customer orders;
  • Ensuring store appearance and merchandising are maintained as assigned;
  • Exhibiting excellent telephone communication and etiquette skills;
  • Thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment;
  • Communicating effectively with peers, both verbally and in writing;
  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse workforce;
  • Adhering to performance standards set for the Sales Counter Representative;

  • Building strong relationships with associates, customers, and support staff;

  • Familiarity with computerized systems and applications, including electronic parts catalogs, inventory control, and invoicing;

  • Possessing a working knowledge of automotive systems;
  • Learning to perform various shop functions as required;
  • Conducting physical inventories and line counts;
  • Stocking shelves and fulfilling customer orders.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred;
  • A satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report must be obtained by the applicant and submitted for approval prior to the hiring date;
  • Successfully completing a pre-employment drug test;
  • ASE Certification preferred, but not necessary at the time of hire;
  • Acknowledgment of and adherence to all Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Fisher Auto Parts Employee Handbook, which will be provided at the time of hire.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that accommodates a variety of days, evenings, and/or weekends as needed to provide quality service while successfully contributing to the business's growth with profitability and integrity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by a Sales Counter Representative to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Sales Counter Representative is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Additionally, the Sales Counter Representative may be required to operate a motor vehicle. The role may involve frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving weights in excess of 50 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the store work environment is usually moderate to light.
