Mill Operations Support Specialist

Barrett Petfood Innovations is a family-owned and operated premium pet food manufacturer. We are currently seeking a Mill Operations Support Specialist. This role is essential for assisting in the processes that enable the mill to blend various raw materials into flour within a non-climate-controlled setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly monitor and adjust multiple variable controls to ensure the flour mill and warehouse operate efficiently.
  • Maintain product specifications in line with established standards.
  • Ensure accurate ingredient weights, materials, and labeling as required.
  • Document and address any discrepancies identified in your work area.
  • Conduct quality checks to verify that quality specifications are consistently met.
  • Complete all necessary quality assurance and mill parameter documentation.
  • Communicate promptly with the Mill Manager and Leads regarding any issues, safety concerns, or suggestions.
  • Set up Micro bins for ingredient storage.
  • Prepare bulk products in superstack totes.
  • Utilize yard equipment to move trailers within the yard.
  • Facilitate effective communication between shifts.
  • Work collaboratively with a team and independently as needed.
  • Adhere to stringent cleaning and safety protocols.
  • Document incoming shipments, including taking photos and noting any damages for credit purposes.
  • Count, verify, and record the location and weights of bulk trailers used in milling operations.
  • Unload and transfer bulk materials as directed by the Mill Lead.
  • Load bulk trailers with flour and prepare them for shipment.
  • Ensure the correct placement of bulk trailers throughout the milling process.
  • Implement good inventory practices, following FIFO (first in, first out) methodology.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience operating forklifts and boom lifts.
  • Possession of a CDL is advantageous.
  • Proficient computer skills, including email usage.
  • Willingness to work in an uncontrolled environment with varying temperatures and dust.

Work Hours:

1st Shift: 4am - 3pm, Monday - Thursday
2nd Shift: 4pm - 3am, Monday - Thursday
