Job Summary

Barrett Petfood Innovations is seeking a skilled Mill Operations Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our flour mill and warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and adjust variable controls to maintain optimal mill performance.
  • Maintain product specifications in accordance with industry standards.
  • Ensure accurate ingredient weights, materials, and labeling.
  • Report and document any discrepancies or issues.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Complete quality assurance documentation and mill parameter documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding problems or concerns.
  • Set up and manage inventory systems, including micro bins and bulk product.
  • Operate yard dogs and trailers in the yard.
  • Facilitate shift-to-shift communication and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Take photos of incoming shipments and document damages.
  • Count, check, and annotate location and weights of bulk trailers.
  • Unload and transfer bulk material as directed.
  • Load bulk trailers with flour and prepare for shipment.
  • Ensure correct location of bulk trailers.
  • Maintain good inventory practices, including FIFO.
Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and boom lifts.
  • CDL is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, including email.
  • Ability to work in a cold/hot dusty environment.
