Barrett Petfood Innovations is a family-owned premium pet food manufacturer dedicated to quality. We are currently seeking a Mill Operations Support Specialist. This role is essential for facilitating the milling process, where various raw materials are transformed into flour within a non-climate-controlled setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and adjust multiple variable controls to ensure optimal functioning of the flour milling and storage operations.
  • Maintain product specifications in line with established standards.
  • Ensure accurate ingredient measurements, material handling, and proper labeling as necessary.
  • Document and address any discrepancies identified in the work area.
  • Conduct quality assessments to confirm adherence to quality standards.
  • Complete all necessary quality assurance and milling parameter documentation.
  • Communicate promptly with the Mill Manager and Leads regarding any issues, safety concerns, or recommendations.
  • Set up Micro bins for ingredient storage.
  • Prepare bulk products in superstack totes.
  • Utilize yard dog equipment to maneuver trailers within the yard.
  • Facilitate effective communication between shifts.
  • Work collaboratively with team members as well as independently.
  • Adhere to rigorous cleaning and safety protocols.
  • Document incoming shipments with photographs and report any damages for credit purposes.
  • Count, verify, and record the location and weights of bulk trailers utilized in milling operations.
  • Unload and transfer bulk materials as directed by the Mill Lead.
  • Load bulk trailers with flour and prepare them for shipment.
  • Ensure proper organization of bulk trailers throughout the milling process.
  • Implement good inventory management practices, following FIFO (first in, first out) principles.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience operating forklifts and boom lifts is required.
  • Possession of a CDL is advantageous.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature and dusty environments.

Work Schedule:

1st Shift: 4am - 3pm, Monday - Thursday
2nd Shift: 4pm - 3am, Monday - Thursday

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate
