Job Overview:

As a Director, Architecture, you will be responsible for driving the technical vision of Fidelity Digital Assets, a full-service enterprise-grade platform for storing, trading, and servicing digital assets. This is a hands-on role where you will design and build software for projects spanning multiple engineering groups at Fidelity Digital Assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build software for projects spanning multiple engineering groups at Fidelity Digital Assets.
  • Drive technology strategy and architecture across a range of new and existing capabilities in a business unit.
  • Provide leadership to product teams through architecture designs, adoption of emerging standards, and collaboration with key partners.
  • Collaborate with architects across the firm in forums as well as external to Fidelity (e.g. industry consortia and solution/vendor interactions).
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and architecture documents.
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives and goals.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Production experience with Java and Springboot. Python is a plus.
  • Experience designing and building large scale production distributed systems with focus on customer experience, scale, resilience and performance.
  • Proficient in principles of API design and its application using REST. Websockets/GraphQL is a plus.
  • Experience with reactive and functional programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with AWS services architecture and solution patterns is preferred.
  • Experience with Data architecture, SQL, ETL, batch operations, warehousing is a plus.
  • Exposure to infrastructure as code, test automation, CI/CD, and containerization.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at a given time.
  • Ability to collaborate stakeholders to understand business requirements.
  • Experience in managing technology vendor relationships.
