Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As an Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to patients with various mental health conditions, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental health status, identifying areas of strength and need for intervention.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient-centered care principles.
  • Provide direct care to patients, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current RN license in New Mexico or eligibility for licensure by reciprocal agreement.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • A commitment to providing patient-centered care, with a focus on safety, quality, and compassion.
