We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our Psychiatric Emergency Services department, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care for patients with various cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate group therapy and education sessions
- Administer medication and treatment, perform triage and crisis intervention, and document patient data and information
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification
- 1 year of direct experience in psychiatric nursing
- Bilingual English and Spanish language skills
This role requires heavy physical exertion, with frequent lifting of patients and equipment. You will also be exposed to hazardous materials and require proper personal protective equipment.
