Job Description

Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Macon Housing Authority.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of our buildings, facilities, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and Maintain Facilities: Inspect the interior and exterior of buildings and parking lots daily, identifying repair and cleaning needs.
  • Perform Repairs and Maintenance: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair buildings, facilities, fixtures, equipment, and property.
  • Complete Work Orders: Complete work orders for residential apartment repairs in a timely fashion, coinciding with the work requested.
  • Document Tenant Charges: Document tenant charges for repairs and maintenance.
  • Operate Light Trucks: Operate light trucks to pick up and deliver equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure Safety and Security: Understand and follow guidelines for safe handling of toxic and/or caustic chemicals and other hazardous materials.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Commit to excellence in customer service and maintain confidentiality of all resident activity and information.
  • Participate in On-Call Rotation: Participate in the On-Call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ Years General Maintenance Experience: 2+ years of general maintenance experience required.
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License: Valid Georgia driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and acceptable driving record required.
  • HVAC Experience/Certification: HVAC experience/certification a plus.

Compensation: Starting range based on experience - $17.00 to $19.00/hr.
