Job Purpose: The Field Service Technician plays a vital role in the installation and commissioning of essential water equipment tailored for sterile processing departments in healthcare settings. This position is essential for ensuring the effective and dependable operation of water purification systems.

Authority Level: The Field Service Technician operates autonomously to manage the installation, commissioning, and initiation of critical water systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Making real-time decisions on the setup and operational adjustments of water purification systems to meet critical water standards.
  • Conducting thorough system diagnostics and performance validations to ensure all equipment functions efficiently.
  • Collaborating with healthcare facility management and equipment manufacturers to address issues and provide recommendations.
  • Training facility personnel on the proper operation and upkeep of critical water systems.

Work Environment: The Field Service Technician primarily operates within healthcare facilities, focusing on sterile processing departments where critical water systems are installed and initiated.

  • Work settings include hospitals, surgical centers, and clinics.
  • Responsibilities are carried out in technical areas such as mechanical rooms and sterile processing units.
  • May encounter varying environmental conditions, including temperature-controlled and high-humidity areas.
  • Requires a significant degree of independent work, necessitating self-sufficiency in diagnosing issues and performing installations.
  • Physical activities include lifting heavy equipment and maneuvering in confined spaces.

Work Schedule:

The Field Service Technician's hours align with the operational needs of healthcare facilities, typically from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility required for urgent needs, including occasional weekend work.

Travel Expectations:

The Field Service Technician is expected to travel for assignments, primarily within the region, with occasional out-of-area trips that may require overnight stays.

  • Travel frequency varies based on project schedules and service requirements.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and commission water purification equipment, including filtration and reverse osmosis systems.

  • Provide training on the operation and maintenance of water purification systems.

Qualifications:
