Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech and Language Services or a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate for Speech and Language Impaired as sanctioned by the MDE.
  • Must obtain a Speech-Language Pathologist License through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Experience in a diverse educational environment is preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct differential diagnosis, assessments, and progress tracking.
  • Develop evidence-based intervention strategies for individual students and groups.
  • Provide instructional strategies to students and educators that enhance progress in the general education setting, including in-class speech and language therapy.
  • Establish and maintain positive collaborative relationships with parents/guardians, students, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with district policies.
  • Fulfill Special Education and district obligations within required timelines.
  • Exhibit excellent time management, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Engage positively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with departmental colleagues, ancillary staff, administration, parents, and building personnel to support student development.
  • Utilize appropriate technology to enhance instructional practices.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute as a collaborative team member within the school staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Frequent use of office equipment necessitating repetitive hand movements and fine motor skills, including keyboard use.
  • Must be able to manipulate objects using hands and arms.
  • Extensive verbal communication with various stakeholders is required.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Normal vision and hearing, with or without aids, are necessary.
  • Ability to navigate the assigned work environment throughout the day.
