Activities Coordinator

As an Activities Coordinator at NHS Management Services, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by planning and executing engaging activities that promote socialization, entertainment, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Activities Director in preparing and conducting scheduled group activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- Transport residents to and from activities, providing assistance as needed to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Perform activities with room-bound residents, adapting to their individual needs and abilities.
- Record daily residents' attendance at group activities and document room-bound residents' responses to activities, providing valuable insights for future programming.
- Monitor residents' grooming and assist as necessary, promoting their independence and dignity.
- Deliver mail to residents and read mail to those who require assistance, fostering a sense of connection and community.
- Assist residents with menu selections, ensuring their dietary needs are met and their preferences are respected.
- Treat residents with dignity and respect, upholding their rights and confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate effectively with staff in other departments regarding changes in residents' conditions and information about activities programs.
- Experience working with the elderly and disabled, demonstrating a passion for providing exceptional care and support.
- Ability to work independently, making sound judgments and decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and staff.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and keyboard operations, to support administrative tasks.
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude, essential for working with residents who may require additional support.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, bend, reach, grasp, and perform fine manipulations, as necessary to perform job duties.
- Ability to remain calm under stress, providing a stable and reassuring presence for residents.
As an Activities Coordinator, you will interact with residents, family members, staff, visitors, and government agencies under all conditions and circumstances. You may be subject to hostile and emotionally upset individuals, as well as frustrations in meeting work demands due to frequent interruptions. You may also be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions, including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
