POSITION OVERVIEW:

The role involves assisting customers in the procurement of automotive parts, whether at the counter, in the workshop, or via telephone.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following are essential responsibilities associated with this position. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.
  • Provides assistance to all customers (both retail and workshop) in identifying and selecting necessary parts in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Advises customers on related part requirements and ensures they are informed about the complete range of products available.
  • Handles incoming phone inquiries, offering pricing information and other relevant details.
  • Reviews estimates from body shops to confirm the accuracy of ordered parts and ensure pricing aligns with the provided estimates.
  • Delivers exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Retrieves and processes orders from inventory.
  • Alerts the parts manager regarding any out-of-stock items or urgent shop materials.
  • Identifies out-of-stock parts from external suppliers and places emergency orders when necessary.
  • Informs service advisors and customers upon the arrival of special ordered parts.
  • Communicates with the body shop regarding the arrival and delivery schedule of all parts.
  • Prepares orders for delivery to the body shop, ensuring all parts are labeled with customer names and job numbers.
  • Follows up on parts that are back-ordered.
  • Conducts weekly verification of will-call and back-order files, returning or restocking items that are not collected or needed.
  • Restocks assigned inventory on a daily basis.
  • Ensures that all internal parts requests are charged to the appropriate service repair orders.
  • Confirms that all charge sales are signed by the customer.
  • Ensures customers receive their copy of the invoice.
  • Accepts returns of parts, verifying the original invoice or its number for purchase and pricing confirmation.
  • Maintains organized records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
  • Keeps the front and rear counter areas tidy and free of clutter.
  • Engages in all training programs provided.
  • Stays updated on new products and product enhancements.
  • Collaborates with the parts manager to maintain a lost sales tracking system.
  • Upholds a professional appearance at all times.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
