We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide basic nursing care to patients assigned to the Primary Care Clinic under the direct supervision of a Licensed Medical Care Provider.
- Conduct health assessments and screenings as per established protocols.
- Record and report observations and patient progress to the healthcare team.
- Assist in the formulation of treatment plans and provide patient education.
- Perform various clinical tasks, including phlebotomy, ECGs, and vital sign collection.
- Assist with patient transfers and ambulation.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including positioning, draping, and disinfecting treatment sites.
- Collect and record patient data, including height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure.
- Perform simple laboratory and screening tests.
- Administer first aid and CPR as needed.
- Perform front office duties, including answering phones, filing, scheduling appointments, and computer input.
- Order medical and clinical supplies and maintain inventory.
Requirements:
- Completion of a medical assistant program approved by the State of California.
- Phlebotomy certificate preferred.
- Three (3) months to One (1) year experience working as a medical assistant in a doctor's office, clinic setting, or hospital.
