Job Summary:

We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team at eTeam. The successful candidate will provide mental health services to inmates at a correctional facility, including assessment, treatment, and documentation of patient progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Consult with supervisors, treatment team members, and CDCR institutional health care personnel to develop and implement treatment plans.
  2. Document all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IOTT) meetings.
  3. Monitor inmate progress using CDCR Mental Health approved documentation formatting for progress notes.
  4. Apply community standards of practice for non-medical treatment modalities and ethical standards.
  5. Perform mental status exams (MSE) in face-to-face clinical interviews.
  6. Examine prior mental health records, institutional charts, probation reports, court records, and other available documents to assist in the formulation of patient diagnoses and treatment plans.
  7. Conduct mental health education and develop additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender patient-inmates/youths.
  8. Assist patient-inmates/youths in applying for entitlement benefits (SSI), community programs, and services.
  9. Facilitate patient-inmates/youths transition between various settings within the institution.
  10. Perform pre-release functions for releasing patient-inmates/youths, including patient education and transition to county mental health and community mental health treatment programs.
  11. Participate in IDTT meetings and compile and analyze data from audits pertaining to the mental health program requirements.
  12. Provide information to support staff for data entry and written reports to the Board of Prison Hearings and other CDCR staff.
  13. Develop a therapeutic relationship with patient-inmates, families, and caretakers to enhance effective treatment delivery.
  14. Represent the Department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters related to clinical social work.
  15. Protect and maintain safety and security of property, including documentation of unusual occurrences and inventory control of psychological testing material, reference material, computers, and other equipment.
  16. Maintain order and supervise the conduct of persons committed to the correctional facility to prevent escapes or injury.
  17. Give input and help implement new programs for the treatment, training, or rehabilitation of patient-inmates/youths.
  18. Comprehend and adhere to CA and CDCR law, regulations, policies, and procedures regarding patient confidentiality, written and electronic medical record documentation, and the release of patient records.
  19. Report suspected child abuse, elder abuse, danger to self or others, Tarasoff reporting, and other confidentiality mandates.
